The Challenge
Chic-Chic needed to reduce friction in the seller onboarding process. The default Sharetribe Stripe hosted onboarding created a disjointed experience, taking users away from the platform and causing drop-offs.
- Stripe's hosted onboarding flow was confusing for Bulgarian sellers

We completely replaced Stripe's hosted onboarding with a custom in-platform experience that keeps sellers on the Chic-Chic website throughout the entire process:
Custom Stripe Onboarding Flow
Built a fully custom onboarding experience that collects all required information and performs verifications directly on the Chic-Chic website, eliminating redirects to Stripe.
QR Code Document Verification
Developed an innovative QR code system — sellers on desktop can scan a code with their mobile phone, which opens a page on Chic-Chic where they can easily take photos of their ID or upload documents directly from their device.
Mobile-First Verification
The QR code opens a mobile-optimized page where users can use their camera to capture ID documents or take selfies for identity verification — all within the Chic-Chic brand experience.
Frictionless Experience
By keeping the entire flow on-platform, we dramatically reduced seller drop-off and created a seamless, branded experience from start to finish.
